August Fishing Is on Fire Already

After some wind and sporty conditions making it challenging to chase Dolphin with any consistency we have turned the corner and things are shaping up! The numbers of fish have been getting ALOT better as well as the size of the fish increasing too. Deep Dropping for Snowy Grouper, Tilefish and Rosefish have been consistently producing some quality catches in between chasing schools of Mahi.

The Inshore Tarpon, Permit and Bonefish action has been really good as well. My good friends from Colorado booked 4 days with me last week and we had some EPIC Permit fishing and we also managed a few Tarpon and a couple of Bonefish each day.

From the depths of the deep blue to the shallow flats of the backcountry the summer fishing is GREAT. I cannot encourage you enough to get out and experience what the Keys is all about.

Lobster season opens August 6 and the majority of the areas are holding decent numbers and I expect it to only get better as the boat traffic decreases with children going back to school and catching lobster is a great way to end the day on the ride in from catching other species just to pu the icing on the cake!
